Help our heroes – The Vacaville Reporter

Help our heroes – The Vacaville Reporter

The purpose and mission of the 100 Club of Solano and Yolo Counties is to assist the families of first responders in these two counties who have been killed in the line of duty.

As we all know, it can take several months for the paperwork to be processed and benefits to be paid. The club’s mission is to help families with immediate financial problems (funeral expenses, travel expenses for out-of-town family members, and lost wages). The club also provides ongoing financial assistance of $1,000 per child per year for education or other needs until the children reach age 18.

Unfortunately, on July 12, we had to complete our mission and present a check for $20,000 to Matt Bowen’s family. We will continue to work with the Bowen family during this difficult time and beyond.

Before we could recover from this tragedy, another one struck.

The Vacaville Fire Department announced the tragic death of one of its dedicated team members, Code Enforcement Technician Bryden Nadasdy, due to an off-duty accident.

Although our bylaws limit payments to the families of first responders killed in the line of duty, the 100 Club will partner with one of our sponsors, Sir Winston Funeral Services, to assist with Bryden’s funeral expenses.

Please consider making a donation! Your donation will help ensure we have the resources we need to continue to help the families of our fallen heroes.
