Travis Kelce sees Taylor Swift perform for the 13th time just before training camp

Travis Kelce will return to Kansas City for Chiefs training camp in a few days, but the superstar tight end had to end his offseason by attending his 13th Taylor Swift concert.

Kelce, 34, was spotted at the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen for the first of Swift’s three performances there. It was the 13th time he saw the “Fortnight” singer in concert. This made it the 13th time Swift attended Kansas City Chiefs games last season.

For Swift, 13 has long been her lucky number. In a year-long interview with MTV News, the Grammy winner explained: “I was born on the 13th. I turned 13 on Friday the 13th. My first album went gold in 13 weeks. My first No. 1 song had a 13-second intro. Every time I’ve won an award, I’ve either sat in the 13th seat, the 13th row, the 13th section, or row M, which is the 13th letter. Basically, any time a 13 shows up in my life, it’s always a good thing.”

Kelce seemed to be in a good mood at the concert, as can be seen in photos and videos shared by concertgoers in Gelsenkirchen.

The tight end wore a green and black checkered shirt and a white baseball cap as he was seen poking his head out of a private suite at the venue.

Swift will play two more nights at the Veltins Arena before traveling to Munich, Poland, Austria and England. She will perform in Europe until August 20th before returning to the US to prepare for the next leg of the tour.

Kelce, meanwhile, will return to the Chiefs’ training camp in Kansas City on Friday, July 19, where he and Patrick Mahomes will prepare to defend their title as two-time consecutive NFL champions.

Kelce’s 13th concert comes shortly after the tight end surprised fans by joining Swift onstage at her June 23 concert at Wembley Stadium in London.

Kelce surprised Swifties when he showed up in a tuxedo and carried Swift onstage during her costume change segment of “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.” He powdered Swift’s face and showed off some dance moves in his Eras Tour debut.

In an episode of his podcast New heights with Jason and Travis Kelce after the big moment, The Chiefs star said it was “shattering” when he appeared on stage with his girlfriend for the first time.

“When everyone found out it was me – because it took a second for everyone to realize it – that moment was pretty jarring. I was like, ‘Oh, shit,'” he said. “And you don’t realize how big that damn stage is. It’s easily the size of a football stadium… it’s way bigger than I could have ever imagined.”

“But no, it was great. And I didn’t disappoint Taylor, that’s all that really matters,” Travis added.
