Hillsdale College Athletic Department Introduces Charger Champions Club

The Hillsdale College Athletic Department is pleased to announce the opening of the Charger Champions Club today, July 17th.

More than just a re-orientation of the athletic department’s fundraising efforts, the Charger Champions Club is a comprehensive re-imagining that combines all of the benefits of existing sport-specific fundraising clubs with a cohesive organization that unites all supporters of Hillsdale College athletics on one team and leads the entire athletic department toward future success.

“We are excited to create a new way to support sports at Hillsdale College with the Charger Champions Club,” said Athletic Director John Tharp. “Our goal is to create a club, a team and a family to support sports at Hillsdale College that will allow every Charger – past, present and future – to play an important role in our success.”

“The Charger Champions Club will make it easier than ever for Hillsdale College supporters to contribute to our athletic department and will allow us to provide these supporters with more and better experiences in interacting with our programs and being part of the Chargers family.”

The purpose of the Charger Champions Club is to generate sufficient philanthropic support for all 16 varsity sports and over 400 student-athletes at Hillsdale College so that each program and student-athlete can compete at a championship level while also excelling in the classroom. Donations to the Charger Champions Club support areas such as team travel, equipment, athletic performance, health and wellness, academic support, facility improvements and more for all of Hillsdale’s varsity programs.

Each person who donates to the Hillsdale College Athletic Department will receive a membership in the Charger Champions Club for the year of their donation, with membership benefits available upon donations of a certain amount. We have several events planned for Charger Champions Club members, including four events in September at home games on September 7 and 21, and home volleyball competitions on September 13 and 28. In addition, all Charger Champions Club members who make an annual donation of $300 will receive a priority invitation to attend the 2024 Hillsdale College Athletics Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Friday, October 11, the day before Homecoming on October 12. Charger Champions Club members can welcome the inductees to Hillsdale’s athletic Hall of Fame and help the department honor the previous year’s All-American Award and President’s Scholar-Athlete Award recipients at the ceremony.
