The 3 cheapest contracts of the Denver Broncos in 2024

The 3 cheapest contracts of the Denver Broncos in 2024

In the last offseason, the Denver Broncos have spent quite a bit on free agents. Like any team, the Broncos want to get the most bang for their buck when it comes to veterans, whether they’re players they drafted and then extended or free agents who played for other teams.

I continue to examine the Broncos’ best and worst value contracts. I have the three contracts with the worst valueso now it is time to examine the three best. My rating is based on About the capThe player rating for 2023 will be determined in comparison to salary.

The point here isn’t to highlight players who have cheap contracts. It’s more about how much value the Broncos are getting for those players relative to the money they’re getting and what the rest of the league is paying for similarly talented players.

OTC Rating 2023: 9.2 million USD

Salary 2024: 4.25 million USD

The Broncos signed Reynolds as a free agent late in the offseason and got him for a more than reasonable price, and he’s likely the No. 3 receiver entering training camp.

Reynolds had a good season last year with the Detroit LionsThe Broncos signed him for just a little more than he got on his previous contract with the Lions.

The good thing about this contract is not only that the Broncos aren’t paying Reynolds much, but that they’re paying him less than comparable receivers. It’s a low-risk deal with a lot of potential.

OTC Rating 2023: 14.5 million USD

Salary 2024: 15.25 million USD

Allen emerged as the Broncos’ best free agent signing in 2023, signing a three-year, $45.75 million contract, with $32.5 million fully guaranteed and delivered.

Allen’s performance appeased Broncos fans who loved Dre’Mont Jones, a 2020 third-round pick who was drafted by the The Seattle Seahawks last year. Allen gave the Broncos a pass-rushing presence on the defensive line and was also a good run defender, all on a contract that doesn’t even put him in the top 10 of interior linebacker contracts.

OTC Rating 2023: 16.3 million USD

Salary 2024: 15.75 million USD

Bolles has been consistent since signing his four-year, $68 million contract late in the 2020 season, and he has come a long way since his penalty issues earlier in his career.

What’s particularly good about Bolles is that he has recovered from a broken leg in 2022 and has played well in 2023. There were rumors that he was on the transfer list at times, but he has proven that he can still be a key player in attack.

Bolles’ salary is a good value considering what other offensive tackles make, and if he continues to play well in 2024, the Broncos could consider extending him for a few years.
