New coaches and surprising twist confirmed

Like it or not, season 26 of The Voice is on the way.

Yes, there are some who think the show has had its day and should be cancelled. And yet the show still has so many fans that it has been renewed for two more seasons. (Season 27 is already in the works!)

But how will NBC keep the intrigue alive? How will The voice Stay tuned, because the format is starting to feel a little… tiring.

Why? By changing the format, of course! Oh, we have some spoilers for you!

“The Voice” Season 26 will premiere on NBC in fall 2024

The premiere of the 26th season of The voice on Monday, September 23rd, at 8 p.m. on NBC.

The show will premiere on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at 8 p.m., with two episodes airing each week.

The premiere date of the live episodes is yet to be announced – to be honest, it will depend on how long it takes the jury to decide on a top 12. Some years it goes faster than others.

Meet the Season 26 Coaches: Welcome back, Gwen!

Let’s be honest: people don’t come to The voice for the contestants. Honestly, if anyone could name more than 3 winners of the show in the last 26 seasons, we would be shocked.

But the real attraction that keeps viewers coming back year after year is the ever-changing cast of coaches. In season 26, the team is split in half, two newbies and two veterans.

First, the new additions: Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé will make their debut this season. After a country-heavy panel in season 25, the producers decided to do a complete U-turn and put together perhaps the most diverse genre coach ever.

The other two chairs are occupied by Reba McEntire (I told you she wasn’t leaving!) and Gwen Stefani is returning. Will it be weird to see her there without husband Blake Shelton? Yes.

Are we still excited that she’s coming back? Absolutely!

A new “twist”: Producer reveals some spoilers in advance

For fear of spoiling the adventure for fans, much about the show is kept secret.

However, showrunner Audrey Morrissey hinted before the season began that a new format might be introduced in season 26 to add more spice.

“I’m always trying to think about what would be a good addition to the show?” she told the audience at the NBC FYC Emmy campaign panel for the show in May.

“What are the new twists that are not only interesting but also feel really relevant and make sense for the show? We’re constantly thinking about return on investment.”

Morrissey, for example, gave a teaser that they are considering a whole new round for season 26. “Just as we rotate the chairs to keep a fresh dynamic, we want the rounds to stay fresh. So we may move rounds around.”

Interesting, but will it be enough to freshen up the game? Only time will tell.

“The Voice” continues with season 27

Despite calls for its cancellation, The voice was renewed for another season together with season 26.

When the show returns in 2025, the panel will look completely different.

John Legend, Michael Bublé, Kelsea Ballerini and OG coach Adam Levine are set to complete the coaching roster for season 27.

“Team Adam is back,” Levine wrote on Instagram when making his official announcement. He then added:

“I feel sorry for the other teams.”
