NFL REDZONE host Scott Hanson proudly proclaims that he “loves God and loves people,” and he will have the chance to share that love with millions as the host of the Olympics coverage.

“Proud to announce that I will be joining the @nbcsports team for the Paris Olympics,” he posted in March.

Hanson joined the Sports Spectrum Podcast to discuss his new role at the Olympics.

“GOLD ZONE and NBC Sports,” Hanson told Sports Spectrum of what his Olympic program will be called. “So, the executives at NBC Sports, Molly Solomon, who runs NBC Olympics, and others on her team are huge REDZONE fans, and they reached out to me and said, ‘Hey Scott. We’re doing GOLD ZONE for the Paris Olympics.’ And I probably don’t even know what the REDZONE fans out there are thinking, when they hear the terms GOLD ZONE and Olympics, there’s probably already a picture in their head of what it’s going to be.

“We have 39 sports. Several disciplines under it. Countless events. I think 329 medal events,” he continued. “NBC Sports has the rights to take you anywhere. I’ll be in a studio in Stanford, Connecticut. Actually, I’ll be doing this not from Paris, but in Stanford, Connecticut, at NBC Sports headquarters. We’ll take you to where the hottest action is in Paris at any given time.”

Hanson is open about his faith and supports those who share his values. This spring, he attended the Tim Tebow Foundation Golf and Gala Weekend on April 7.

“One of my favorite weekends of the year. @timtebowfoundation Gala & Golf Classic (Year 13!) … people giving their time, talent and fortune to impact lives and honor God. Love you Timmy & team! We’re right there with you – fighting for the MVPs,” he wrote.

Hanson also often shares Bible verses on his X account. One of the verses he shared is Luke 10:27, which says, “He answered, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'”

“& when – not if – I fail, Jesus, please give me Your grace and mercy,” Hanson added.
