At the Republican National Convention on Tuesday evening, excerpts from the pro-Trump rap song “Trump Trump Baby” featuring model Amber Rose were played.

Rose, known for her previous relationship with rapper Kanye West, was famously critical of former President Donald Trump during his first run for president, calling him an “idiot” in an interview with The Cut.

But she has since changed her mind. In her speech at the RNC on Monday, Rose said Trump and his supporters were “full of love.”

She blamed the media for her past views, saying they spread “lies” about the former president, such as that he was “a racist.” She wrote that speaking to her father, a Trump supporter, was “eye-opening.”

What is TrumpTrumpBaby?

Pro-Trump rapper Forgiato Blow released his song “Trump Trump Baby” in June. The music video, which features Rose wearing a gold chain with a doll-sized head of the former president, was shown at the RNC on Tuesday.

The song is rapped in the style of the well-known 90s hit “Ice Ice Baby” by Vanilla Ice and contains lyrics about the re-election of the former president: “We’re voting for Donald Trump, baby” and “November 5thth we’re going crazy.” The song also criticizes the charges against Trump, people who voted for Biden, and the media.

According to Forbes, the song reached the top ten on the Billboard charts and number eight on the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales and Rap Digital Song Sales.

Blow has long supported Trump through his music: In 2020, he released an album called “All Eyez on Maga,” which included a song called “Vote Donald Trump.” Most recently, Blow released a song called “Teflon Trump,” which features the now-famous photo of a bloodied Trump raising his fist after the assassination attempt.

What to watch on Day 3 of the RNC

The RNC will continue on Wednesday, with Trump’s vice presidential candidate JD Vance and Trump’s eldest son Donald Trump Jr., among others, taking the stage.
