Picard’s potential Legacy spinoff gets hopeful update from series star

There is still hope for Star Trek: Legacythe planned spin-off of Picard. Todd Stashwick, who Star Trek: Picard In season three, Captain Liam Shaw recently shared his thoughts on when the fan-supported spin-off series might get the green light.




During an Instagram Live chat between Stashwick and artist Jenny R. Johnson, Rob Keyes of Screen Rant asked the actor if he thought Star Trek: Legacy actually had a chance that it would happen in the near future. “I don’t have a crystal ball. I know David Ellison is a good man. He’s the Skydance (CEO),” Stashwick said. Ellison is set to become chairman and CEO of Paramount after the merger with Skydance Media and RedBird Capital. “I don’t know,” he continued.I think he’s a Star Trek fan… That would be a question for them.”

Picard Star Ed Speleers, who may appear in legacy like his Star Trek Character Jack Crusher told fans in March 2024 to “keep being loud about it,” hinting that Paramount+ will be forced to greenlight the project if fan demand for the spin-off remains high. “Everyone seems to want it. We just have to keep making it so loud. I mean, I would love it. I would absolutely love to play more,” he continued.

The next new Star Trek series will be Starfleet Academy

Paramount+ is currently preparing to begin production on its next Star Trek Series, Starfleet Academywhich will begin filming later this year. The upcoming series, first announced in March 2023, will feature “a new class of Starfleet cadets coming of age in one of the galaxy’s most legendary locations” and “must navigate blossoming friendships, explosive rivalries, first loves, and a new enemy that threatens both the Academy and the Federation itself.”


Holly Hunter will be the headliner Starfleet Academy as captain and chancellor of the eponymous educational institution, with Paul Giamatti cast as the main villain of the first season, “who has a sinister connection to the past of one of the cadets.” The rest of the Starfleet Academy The cast currently consists of Kerrice Brooks (The prom), Bella Shepard (Wolf pack) and George Hawkins (tell me everything), all of whom will represent cadets.
