Watch: New trailer for ‘The Killer’ starring Nathalie Emmanuel and Omar Sy in Universal Pictures’ remake of the classic John Woo action film

If you’re a fan of Game of Thrones, you might recognize Nathalie Emmanuel. She played Missandei, the right-hand woman to the Mother of Dragons, for much of the series until its inglorious end. Since GoT, Emmanuel has enjoyed huge success and her latest project is alongside Omar Sy (Lupin) and Sam Worthington (Avatar) in legendary action director John Woo’s The Killer.

Remarkably, “The Killer” is actually a remake of Woo’s 1989 Hong Kong thriller with the same title.

“The Killer” also features Diana Silvers, Eric Cantona, Saϊd Taghmaoui Tchéky Karyo and Grégory Montel as well as Angeles Woo and Aurélia Agel in the ensemble.

From the official summary:

In the kinetic action thriller, Emmy nominee Emmanuel plays Zee, a mysterious and notorious assassin known and feared in the Paris underworld as the Queen of the Dead. But when Zee refuses to kill a blinded young woman (Silvers) in a Paris nightclub during an assignment from her shady mentor and handler (Worthington), the decision will unravel Zee’s alliances, attract the attention of a savvy police detective (Sy), and plunge her into a sinister criminal conspiracy that puts her on a collision course with her own past.

“The Killer” is produced by Oscar winner Charles Roven, Alex Gartner, John Woo and Lori Tilkin deFelice. The screenplay was written by Brian Helgel and the duo Josh Campbell and Matt Stuecken. Executive producers are Terence Chang, Mark Gordon, Matt Jackson and Robin Mulcahy Fisichella.

The film is scheduled to debut on Peacock on August 23.
