The star also performed a mashup of “Maroon” and “Come Back… Be Here” for the crowd at Wembley Stadium on Friday night.

Taylor Swift opened the first of three evenings at London’s Wembley Stadium on Friday. The singer presented her live debut with “The Black Dog” from her double album. The Tormented Poets Section: The Anthology.

“I’ve never played this live before,” Swift told the audience in videos she shared with X before launching into the surprise part of her set. After performing the TTPD Track, Swift played a mashup of “Maroon” and “Come Back… Be Here” from 2022 midnight and her 2012 album Redrespectively.

Given Swift’s connection to the British capital – the star dated actor Joe Alwyn for six and a half years before they split over a year ago – many fans speculated whether she would sing “London Boy” or “So Long, London,” which some believe is about Alwyn. Instead, many have speculated that “The Black Dog” is by The 1975 frontman Matty Healy, as it’s a reference to pop-punk band The Starting Line, which his band has covered in concert.

Alwyn recently spoke about the split from the star of the Eras Tour. In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter in the promotion Types of kindnessThe actor, who stars in the film, said: “I hope that everyone can understand and empathise with the difficulties that come with the end of a long, loving and committed relationship of over six and a half years.” He continued: “It is a difficult situation. What is unusual and abnormal about this situation is that a week later it is suddenly in the public eye and the outside world can express its opinion.”

Swift’s surprise acoustic sets have been one of the most anticipated parts of her world tour. Earlier this month, she performed “Carolina” live for the first time as part of a mashup with Always‘s “No Body, No Crime” at their third and final Eras Tour show at Anfield Stadium in Liverpool, England.
