Music director Thaman has signed up folk singer Laxmi, known from Telugu Indian Idol 3, for “OG” with Pawan Kalyan in the lead role

Telugu Indian Idol has once again proved why this show stands out from other talent shows. Music director Thaman has this time selected Laxmi, a guest contestant of the show, to sing in the much-awaited Pawan Kalyan film OG.

As one of the judges on Indian Idol 3, Thaman even paid her a symbolic advance on stage after her performance.

According to a report by Times Now, Laxmi, who hails from Kadapa district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, is a guest singer on Indian Idol this season. She recently delivered a stunning performance that earned her a standing ovation on the Indian Idol stage.

All the judges – Thaman, Vijay Yesudas and Geetha Madhuri – and the audience present on the sets of Indian Idol gave a huge round of applause to Laxmi and her team.

Laxmi performed a folk song about a husband sharing all the gifts he has received from his wife. She was accompanied by a small troupe of musicians. Laxmi and her troupe gave a very brilliant performance and the judges, contestants and audience were completely enthralled.

Thaman praised the show for promoting new talent

Music director Thaman appreciated Indian Idol’s efforts to bring folk music back into the spotlight and said indigenous music must be preserved and our roots must not be forgotten.

Thaman feels that Indian Idol provides a great platform for artists like Laxmi to perform and get the recognition they deserve. Laxmi’s performance can be seen in the upcoming episode of Indian Idol 3, which streams every Friday and Saturday on Aha.

Sujeeth-Pawan Kalyan’s OG

OG is the latest project of director Sujeeth, known for Prabhas’ lead role in Saaho. Power Star Pawan Kalyan is leading the project as the hero from the front. OG has a lot of hype as this is his comeback on screen after a break. There are rumours that the Power Star would be playing the role of a fighting master in this film.

Sujeeth recently revealed that Pawan Kalyan would play Ojas and another moniker would be ‘Gambheera’, so the full name will be ‘Ojas Gambheera’. He explained that the title OG was taken from the initial letters of Ojas and also referred to ‘Original Gangster’, a term that goes very well with this theme of the film.

The music director is a specialist in mass commercial action dramas. Thaman is composing the music and original soundtrack of OG. Earlier, Thaman has composed music for Pawan’s Bheemla Nayak.
