Chris Simms ranks Dak Prescott 8th among the 40 NFL QBs before 2024

Chris Simms ranks Dak Prescott 8th among the 40 NFL QBs before 2024

It’s difficult to properly quantify Dak Prescott’s place among his peers. Statistically, Prescott’s regular-season performances make him one of the two or three best quarterbacks for the 2023 season. His previous year, in which he struggled with injuries, was far less celebrated as he threw an excessive number of interceptions.

Still, the perception of him should have changed from post-2022 to post-2023. That’s what infuriated many Cowboys fans about ESPN’s latest quarterback rankings. Prescott ended up in a lower spot, 10th, than he was last year at 9th after finishing second in the race for MVP. That makes no sense at all.

Chris Simms continued his annual tradition of evaluating NFL quarterbacks for NBC Sports and has a much more sensible take on it. Simms had Prescott at No. 13 after 2022, but he bumped him up in the rankings in 2023. Check out the list of all 40 QBs ranked by Simms below.
