“The Voice” canceled after “unbearable” 25th season? Not so fast!

“The Voice” canceled after “unbearable” 25th season? Not so fast!

Should The voice be canceled after 25 seasons? This is being discussed among long-time fans who found the last season to be a big Zzzz.

Full disclosure: Even if you think the show should be canceled, the reality is that after the winner of season 25 was crowned on May 21, seasons 26 and 27 were greenlit.

So there is currently no end in sight.

Still, we’re facing another jury shakeup, and people who are already unhappy with the show will likely be even angrier next season.

So is the show digging its own grave? Will season 27 really be its last? Let’s discuss it.

“The Voice” has not been canceled, but cannot keep the judges

When Gwen Stefani left The voiceThe hottest of the Jonas Brothers, Nick, took the coaching seat. A pop singer stepped in for another.

But when Niall Horan made his final turn on the NBC talent show, The voice replaced the One Direction graduate with a country duo.

Of all the coaches last season half come from the same niche music genre. Reba McEntire and Dan + Shay (who are “one” coach, but definitely two people) are country singers.

Although neither Chance the Rapper nor John Legend come from the country scene, Season 25 with the changed cast felt like a completely different show – and alienated some longtime viewers.

Just a few hours after the premiere of the 25th season at the end of February, fans and viewers of The voice expressed their disapproval.

Fans demand the cancellation of “The Voice”

For example, Reddit users expressed criticism that was accompanied by demands for The voice be canceled, to the hope that season 26 will be completely different.

“I can’t be the only one annoyed that Country Western (CW) overshadows everything else. If CW had its own show it would be better,” said one Redditor.

“If the music industry decided the winner, that would be better too,” the Reddit user continued. “America’s election is a disaster.”

The Redditor noted the voters’ poor decision, pointing out, “Some of the best singers in the world would have been voted off the show. This is ridiculous.”

The same Reddit prompt continued: “I usually watch until voting starts. This year, this double stunt makes the whole thing unbearable for me.”

“Who thought it would be a good idea to have judges from three countries?” asked one commentator.

“I hate country music,” said another. “They should have chosen the country duo instead of someone else who is different from the rest. I’m not watching this season.”

Another Redditor chimed in: “I haven’t watched it yet, maybe today, but that’s what I was afraid of. Especially with how the voting went last season.”

“The Voice” ends with a climax

Even though the show got off to a rocky start, there were still many skeptics on board until the finale.

That’s largely because of the singer who captured hearts and won the competition. Asher HaVon of Team Reba wowed audiences all season and then shined through to win the whole damn thing!

The Selma, Alabama-born artist was recognized as a top performer from very early on and captivated his fans week after week with his smooth voice and big personality.

Asher sang songs by Beyonce and Whitney Houston and also made history when he became the first openly queer singer to win the Sho

This pleased some of the initially skeptical fans and paved the way for a continuation of the show – for now.

Season 26 of “The Voice” is a GO – as is season 27!

Despite the haters and those who think the show has lost its edge, the next season of The voice is underway and NBC has actually given the green light for season 27.

The voice The premiere of “The Daily” on NBC is scheduled for September 23, 2024. Carson will then return as host for the 26th consecutive year.

However, like season 25, season 26 will see another cast shake-up. Of the current cast, only Reba will remain for season 26. Dan + Shay, Chance the Rapper, and John Legend are all absent, with the latter insisting he may return later.

And before you call him a liar, it seems to be a tradition now for old judges to return to the show. Case in point: While two newbies join the judging panel (Hi, Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé!), Gwen Stefani makes her triumphant return.

How long was she gone? Not long! In season 27, she’ll be out again and replaced by another judge, this time one of the OGs. No, not Christina Aguilera (when is she coming back?!). No, it’s Adam Levine!

Maybe that’s why the show hasn’t been canceled for so long. They just keep using stunt casting for the judges and people come for it!

When it works, it works – but we have a feeling the trick may have been played out.
