Son of legendary 90s singer will perform “Sublime” songs in Syracuse

Jakob Nowell comes to Central New York to celebrate the music of his late father, 90s icon Bradley Nowell.

Jakob Nowell will perform songs from Sublime and Jakob’s Castle at the Westcott Theater in Syracuse on Friday, September 20. The concert, presented by 95X, begins at 8 p.m.

Jakob Nowell is the 29-year-old son of Bradley Nowell, who was the lead singer of Sublime until his death in 1996. The ska-punk band was known for hits such as “What I Got”, “Santeria”, “Wrong Way”, “Doin’ Time”, “Badfish”, “Smoke Two Joints” and “April 29, 1992 (Miami)”.

Jakob has been performing with bands such as LAW and Jakob’s Castle for more than a decade. Sublime continued to perform as Sublime With Rome, but Jakob recently took over as lead singer after the band parted ways with frontman Rome Ramirez in December.

Other upcoming shows at the Westcott Theater include:

  • July 28: Black Flag
  • 14 August: Trap
  • 6 September: Alice Wetterlund
  • October 12: Ten Band – Tribute to Pearl Jam
