During his concert in Nashville on Saturday, Aldean dedicated his controversial 2023 hit “Try That in a Small Town” to Trump.

“President Trump is a friend of mine, so I want to send him this next song,” Aldean told the crowd. according to Taste of Country.

He then told the crowd that they all “know what’s going to happen in November, so it’s all good.”

“It just goes to show that there’s a lot of crap in the world, and that’s what this song is about,” he said. “So this one goes out to the president.”

Aldean had already spoken out in support of Trump in May after he was found guilty of 34 counts of serious crimes by a jury of his counterparts in New York.

Aldean posted a photo of an upside down American flag on Instagram and wrote, “It’s scary times in our country right now, man. If a former US President is treated like this by our justice system, what does that mean for the rest of us??? If there was ever a time to speak your mind, IT’S NOW! Make no mistake… We’re in trouble.”

Aldean made headlines a year ago with “Try That In A Small Town” and its accompanying video, which was labeled “pro-lynching” and racist and was pulled from rotation by CMT shortly after its release.

Alden was also accused of Using pro-racist images on Tik Tok to promote the video. The singer addressed all of this at least several times at concerts in the following weeks.

“I love our country,” he said. “I want it to go back to the way it was before all this (expletive) happened to us. I love my country, I love my family and I will do anything to protect that, I can tell you that right now.”
