The Crushers put runners on first and second base in the ninth inning, but host Gateway held on for a 4-3 win on June 21.
With the score tied 2-2 in the seventh inning, a fielding error by the Crushers put the Grizzlies’ first batter on base and led to two unearned runs. Lake Erie answered with a run in the eighth inning when Scout Knotts hit a ground ball into a double play with the bases loaded, but was not a threat.
