13 famous London pubs could close after Antic Hospitality Group bankruptcy: Full list of pubs

The Antic Hospitality Group, which operates a number of pubs in east and south London, has filed for bankruptcy.

The company can no longer pay its debts and must therefore either sell its assets, pay everyone off, or liquidate the company. default reports that some antic pubs have run into difficulties since the pandemic.

The pubs, including the legendary Dogstar in Brixton, The Sun in Camberwell and the Clapton Hart in Clapton, will remain open and continue to operate during the insolvency proceedings.

Steve Absolom, Managing Director of Interpath Advisory and joint administrator, commented: “This is a diverse collection of well-known and popular pubs and bars in prime locations in South London. The sites are expected to continue to operate as normal with the support of Licensed Solutions’ specialist commercial agents.

“We intend to bring these units to market in due course. They represent a fantastic opportunity for Investors and commercial buyers alike.”

This is not the first time Antic has been in trouble. A subsidiary called Antic Limited went into administration in 2013 due to tax issues. All 13 pubs at risk were then bought out in less than a month, so there is hope that the 13 pubs now at risk will be bought out and able to continue operating.
