SOURCE SPORTS: (WATCH) Country singer Ingrid Andress criticized for her national anthem at MLB HR Derby, she says she was drunk

MLB All-Star Week will forever hold many memorable moments, but none compared to Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Ingrid Andress’s botched “Star Spangled Banner,” but she has the perfect excuse.

Given the number of celebrities and musicians in attendance at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas last night (July 15), no one expected Andress’s rendition of the national anthem to sound so good, but the entire Innanet was breathing down her neck before she could even wave her banner. Even in the video below, the look on ALec Bohm’s face pretty much summed up what everyone else in attendance, or even just watching from afar, was thinking.

The performance has since been widely criticized online. Viewers commented on the footage of the flop with things like “When your mother lied to you and said you were a great singer…”Legend has it that she is still looking for the right key.” and said she had the “Star Strangled Banner” instead.

Andress quickly took down comments on all of her social media channels after the performance, but that hasn’t stopped the ongoing jibes against Andress’ talent. She even went so far as to call her performance the “worst ever” of the national anthem in the history of Major League Baseball’s Home Run Derby. Less than 24 hours after the embarrassing bombshell, Andress claims she was drunk during her performance and vowed to go to rehab.
