Andy Reid, head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, believes that the relationship between Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift gives the two stars a break from their roles as performers and instead allows them to be fans of each other.

“I think it’s great for him. He can handle it,” Reid said of the attention Kelce has received given the high-profile nature of the relationship during an appearance on City of the Shovel Podcast (34:08). “I think he probably loves it to some extent. I think it’s a great change of pace for him. I’ve said that for Taylor too, she comes to the game and she can kind of escape the pressure of being the show. And Travis can do that, and when he goes to her concerts, she’s the star and he can hang out there and be the supportive water carrier.”

At the very least, the relationship has created some interesting crossover opportunities between very different audiences. The NFL is surely happy that Swift’s fan base is suddenly interested in football, while Swift has a new group of sports fans who are suddenly much more familiar with her work.

It’s a win-win situation, unless you’re sick of hearing about Kelce and Swift all the time, which is totally understandable.
