Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift use each other to escape their obligations, says Andy Reid, admitting Chiefs TE loves the attention

Does Travis Kelce love being the center of attention? Coach Andy Reid certainly agreed with that statement. It’s been around 10 months since Taylor Swift and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end started dating, and their “magical” love story has been a hot topic in the NFL town. Even Chiefs teammates like Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid have confessed their romance to the media, the latter with a fresh perspective on how the two celebs find comfort in each other.

Chiefs head coach Reid, who previously described himself as the cupid of the two stars, was a guest on Episode 1 of Scoop City with The Athletic’s Dianna Russini and longtime NFL quarterback Chase Daniel. When asked how Kelce is handling all the attention he’s getting after the pop star entered the league, Reid replied: “I think it’s great for him.”

The 66-year-old continued: “He’s OK with it. That’s a fact. I think he probably loves it to some extent. I think it’s a great way for him to get away from it all. I’ve said that about Taylor too. I mean, she comes to the game, she can kind of escape the pressure of being at the show, and Travis can do that by going to her concerts.“In some ways, their respective realities on the field and on the stage help them be a source of comfort for each other.

Is Travis Kelce using Taylor Swift to avoid his NFL obligations? React!

Reid also said that Kelce might be the “Water boy.” This way, he can support her without being the center of attention. This dynamic also allows them both to find a balance between their celebrity lives and moments of normality.
