Following the well-received first edition last summer, Livermore Valley Arts (LVA) is once again partnering with O’Hana ComicCon to bring ComicCon Livermore to the Bankhead on Saturday, July 20. A place where fan communities collide and imaginations are the limit, this year’s event will include a costume contest (on stage for the first time), face painting, a photo booth, comics and anime. Unlike other ComicCons, this Tri-Valley celebration is free and open to the public.

Particularly noteworthy this year is John Morris, the voice of Andy in Toy Story, Toy Story 2And Toy Story 3will be at ComicCon Livermore beginning at 11 a.m. The event’s guest of honor, Mr. Morris, will be on stage just before the costume contest and will be signing autographs for purchase during the day. The public is invited to experience this exciting afternoon at the Bankhead Theater in downtown Livermore.

This year’s ComicCon Livermore promises to be an exciting celebration of geek culture, showcasing a diverse mix of artists from all genres including graphic novel, manga, crime/noir, sci-fi, horror, fantasy, slice of life, adventure, humor, and romance. In addition to showcasing the artists and the aforementioned cosplay contest, anime and toy vendors, and special guest appearances, ComicCon Livermore is the ultimate destination for fans of all ages to come together and celebrate. Vendors and exciting activities to look out for also include King Kong Comics and Games, Towne Center Books, henna art, and art demonstrations. Guests are invited to grab their capes, dust off their masks, and get ready to showcase their art for ComicCon Livermore!

To register for the costume contest, interested participants must register with Ziggy from O’Hana ComicCon at The Bankhead between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on the day of ComicCon. The contest will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the Bankhead stage. Entry is free for all participants.
