DARIEN, IL – The new restaurant and bar at Carriage Greens Country Club is scheduled to open next week, a Darien official said Monday.

“The renovation of the Carriage Greens Country Club continues to move forward,” said Councilwoman Mary Sullivan at a City Council meeting. “It’s going really, really well. I’m excited and the community is excited to be able to go back there and enjoy all the amenities.”

Patch left a message seeking comment on Tuesday for Carriage Greens co-owner Brian Broderick. The new venue will be called the Club On Par Sports Bar, according to the report.

In June, a judge allowed Carriage Greens Country Club to evict its restaurant operator, Carriage Greens F and B, to whom Heidi Revelis owed money.

Last fall, the club and Revelis sued each other, owing hundreds of thousands of dollars to each other, and parts of that litigation are still ongoing.

At the council meeting, Mayor Joseph Marchese asked Sullivan if the club wanted to hold an official opening ceremony for the restaurant.

Sullivan said the club initially planned a soft opening.

“They were definitely interested in having a grand opening, but they haven’t given a date yet,” she said. “They want to open their doors first and get things rolling.”
