Her soulful single “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” from the album The “Tortured Poets” sectionThe song was announced as her next single via Taylor Nation, the 34-year-old pop sensation’s official fan management account, and is already capturing hearts and playlists alike.
“Today is a special day because Taylor declares it the next single from #TSTTPD!” Swift’s team shared on Instagram on Tuesday, July 16. With a cheeky nod to the song’s lyrics, they added, “We’re so bummed out we pretend everyday is #ICanDoItWithABrokenHearts’ birthday! But today is a special day because Taylor declares it the next single from #TSTTPD! Lights, camera, bitch, listen to the sweet new cover on all streaming platforms.”
To accompany the single announcement, Swift unveiled a new cover for the song. The image shows the “Cruel Summer” singer beaming mid-performance, wearing a sparkly top and metallic blazer, surrounded by showgirl feathers. Written and released amid the throes of a painful breakup, “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” finds Swift picking herself up night after night to face her audience – a true testament to her resilience. “I’m a real tough kid, I can handle my shit,” she sings.
After the announcement, Swifties were simply thrilled and comments came in from all parts of the world.
