Dakota Mathias again achieves double-digit performance in the Pacers Summer League

Dakota Mathias is making the most of his opportunities with the Indiana Pacers during the NBA Summer League. The former Purdue guard put on another solid performance on Tuesday, scoring 11 points in a game against the Phoenix Suns.

Mathias converted five of eight shots from the field. He was particularly effective in catch-and-shoot situations and scored several important baskets in the game.

Mathias also had a rebound and an assist for Indiana in 14:25 minutes of playing time. The Pacers defeated the Suns 98-94 to improve their record to 1-2 in NBA 2K25 Summer League action.

Mathias has scored in double figures two times in a row in the Pacers Summer League. The former Boilermaker finished Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves with 15 points, three rebounds and a block. He made four of five shots from 3-point range.

The Timberwolves defeated the Pacers 105-94.

Since leaving Purdue, Mathias has played in the NBA and NBA G-League and played overseas, spending the 2022-23 season with the Memphis Hustle, the Grizzlies’ G-League affiliate.

Mathias has played in 14 NBA games throughout his career, including eight with the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2020-21 season and six with the Grizzlies in the 2021-22 season. In those games, he averaged 3.9 points and 1.0 assists per game.

Before turning pro, Mathias averaged 8.1 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game at Purdue. His best season was the 2017-18 season, when he averaged 12.0 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game.

The Pacers have one more game left in the NBA 2K25 Summer League. Indiana will play against the Denver Nuggets on Thursday, July 18 at 4:30 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on ESPN 2.
