Darren Doyle, Story:
Superintendent Brian Alexander announced today that Kyrock Elementary School has named Ms. Brandy (Kinser) Meredith as its new principal.

The new hire follows the departure of Shaun Stice, who was recently hired as the new principal of Oakland Elementary.

“With Mr. Stice’s departure, we obviously have a big gap to fill as Mr. Stice was very well-liked and we wish him the best,” said Mr. Alexander.

“Ms. Brandy has been a fixture at Kyrock as a counselor for many years and has always been known for her outstanding work. I believe she is a natural fit for her new role at Kyrock. I fully expect Kyrock to progress and excel under her leadership. Kyrock Elementary School is in excellent hands.”

Ms. Brandy has been involved in the school system for over two decades. She taught kindergarten, second and fourth grade at South Edmonson Elementary for 15 years. For the past 7 years, she has served as a counselor at Kyrock Elementary.

Ms. Brandy told the Edmonson Voice that she was the first in her extended family to graduate from college, which gave her the opportunity to work in the school system.

“I always knew I wanted to work with children,” she said. “It’s truly my passion. I love watching them develop throughout the school year. I’ve made lifelong friendships through my education and I’m thrilled that I’ve been able to spend my career in Edmonson County, it’s truly a special place.”

Mr Alexander said that the current vacant consultant position at Kyrock would be advertised and that the position would be filled immediately after the advertising period ended.
