We spoke to the veteran actor about everything from his role alongside John Wayne to the launch of a new INSP series.

If you’re heading to Longmire Days in Wyoming this weekend, please say hi to A Martinez for us.

The multi-talented Indian actor will be on site to entertain fans of Longmirethe popular television series based on the novels by Craig Johnson, in which he played the unforgettable role of Jacob Nighthorse, the devious profiteer whose motives were not always the purest in founding the Four Feathers Resort and Casino.

Of course, other fans might want to know what it was like to work with John Wayne back then, when Martinez played one of the young title characters in The Cowboys (1972). Or his more recent roles in Dark Windswhere he will soon return for Season 3 to play Sheriff Gordo Dena, or Further portthe well-received INSP Western, in which he starred alongside former Longmire with co-star Bailey Chase.

Speaking of INSP: Some people might want to know more about Blue Ridge: The Seriesa spin-off of the 2020 INSP film – scheduled to premiere on the network on July 28 – in which he takes on the role of Connor McGrath, the brother of the character played by Graham Greene in the original film.

And yes, there will undoubtedly be some – well, actually more than a few – who will ask about his prominent roles in the soap operas Santa Barbara, Port CharlesAnd General Hospital. Which, by the way, he always talks about proudly.

We were lucky enough to sit down with A. Martinez this week to talk about these and other films and TV shows from his resume – including the 1978 cult western Shoot down the sunin which he starred alongside Christopher Walken and Sacheen Littlefeather (whom he remembers with deep respect). But first, of course, we had to talk about Longmire Days.
