Anna Faris makes fun of her and Chris Pratt’s son Jack – and it’s a bit embarrassing

We hope Jack has the same self-deprecating sense of humor as his mother Anna Faris.

The actor appeared on “TodayShe was asked about her struggles as a parent by co-hosts Hoda Kotb and Justin Sylvester on Monday, who noted how quickly her son Jack, whom she has with ex-husband Chris Pratt, has grown up.

“He’s incredible. He’s 11,” Faris said when Kotb asked him how he was doing.

“Sometimes you miss it when you look at old photos,” she said, recalling her son’s childhood before suggesting that he was now entering a new phase of his development.

“I think I really love this age. Although he told me he thinks he has armpit hair. So it happens,” the “Mom” star said.

As if a little joke about Jack going through puberty wasn’t enough to make her pre-teen child’s cheeks instantly blush, the House Bunny star went on to confront him in a little more detail.

When Kotb expressed her fears about raising her children, Faris responded by describing something Jack does on a regular basis that drives her a “little crazy.”

“‘Mommy, where’s my backpack?'” Faris said, imitating her son. “If that’s the case, right there… It’s like I’m teaching him to just look?”

It seemed like Faris had had enough of her taunts of her son when Kotb mentioned the Summer Olympics and noted that Faris was a huge fan of the U.S. women’s gymnastics team – but nope. Faris figured out how to taunt Jack one last time when Kotb gave her an NBC gift basket full of 2024 Paris Olympic loot. Faris took a pair of socks from the gift basket.

“They wouldn’t fit Jack. His feet are like duck paddles. … But they fit me!” she said.

Even though Faris has clearly reached the “I don’t give a damn if I embarrass my kid” phase of parenting, it’s nice to hear the “Scary Movie” alum talk about Jack in such a funny and lighthearted way.

Faris wrote about Jack’s health problems in her 2017 memoir:Unqualified.” In her book, Faris wrote that Jack was born nine weeks premature and spent a month in the neonatal intensive care unit, a time she described as “emotionally exhausting.”

“The pediatric neurosurgeon sat down with Chris (Pratt) and me and told us that Jack had a severe brain hemorrhage and there was a possibility that he had a developmental disability,” she wrote, according to People“I was in complete shock… So Chris and I did what we could: we held hands, hoped and faced this together.”

After about a month in the NICU, Jack was allowed to go home with his parents. When Faris wrote her book, Jack was a happy, healthy five-year-old who had only mild vision and leg muscle problems, she said.

“Today, Jack is at a beautiful age,” Faris wrote in her book. “He has occasional tantrums (did I mention he’s 5?), but he’s a really good kid and he’s happy and sweet and loves to snuggle.”

So if joking about her son on a daytime talk show is a sign that Jack is doing well, we say: Go ahead and make fun of your son’s flipper-like feet and body hair all you want, Faris!
