City of Orangeburg prepares to host DYB World Series 2024

ORANGEBURG, SC (WOLO) – The City of Orangeburg is preparing to host the 2024 DYB World Series.

The tournament, which features all-star teams from 11 Southeastern states in Division 1 and 2 AA Coach Pitch (ages 7-8), will be held July 25-30 in Orangeburg.

“We are very excited to welcome these talented young athletes and their families to Orangeburg. The DYB World Series is a prestigious event and we look forward to showcasing our beautiful city and southern hospitality,” said Orangeburg Mayor Michael C. Butler.

The festivities begin on Thursday, July 25, with a free and open to the public opening ceremony at Oliver C. Dawson Stadium on the SC State University campus from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Tournament play begins Friday, July 26, at Orangeburg Recreational Park, which offers discounted admission to spectators.

According to city officials, series passes are available for $30 and daily admission is $10. The stadium opens two hours before first pitch each day.

A free concert series will take place from Friday, July 26th to Sunday, July 28th, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

  • Friday, July 26: Surfside – Beach Night in the Park
  • Saturday, July 27: Cash Money Experience – R&B Night in Orangeburg
  • Sunday, July 28: DJ RED – Dance party in the park
