Cliff House wins the Chelan Men’s Golf Club Memorial Cup in playoff

CHELAN – Cliff House emerged victorious in the 2024 Memorial Cup Match Play tournament hosted by Chelan Men’s Golf Club, defeating Gary Searle in a hard-fought championship round that spanned extra holes.

In the knockout tournament held in June and July, 29 club members competed for the prestigious title. House and Searle were tied after 18 holes, so a playoff was necessary, with House ultimately winning.

Remarkable performances were shown by Bob Carleton and Tom King, who both reached the semi-finals after three consecutive wins.

The club’s focus now turns to the upcoming 2024 Apple Cup, scheduled for July 20 and 21. This event, the club’s largest annual tournament, serves as its primary fundraising initiative for the community.

Following the Apple Cup, members will begin the 2024 President’s Cup Match Play tournament on July 31. This event will be played in a double knockout format, as opposed to the single knockout structure of the Memorial Cup.
