Kashus Culpepper unveils his new song “Who Hurt You” on July 19th

If you’re craving more from newcomer Kashus Culpepper, you’re in luck.

The artist announced that you won’t have to wait long for new music, as his recently teased “Who Hurt You” will be officially available on Friday, July 19th.

“This song means so much to me,” the artist shared in a social media post between snippets of the upcoming song. “It was one of the first original songs I posted on social media. And I didn’t expect it to do what it did. Me and @markaddisonmusic just wanted to get some things off our chest the day we wrote it and just put a melody behind it.”

The result, as one can guess from the internet, is an impressive acoustic offering, beautifully enveloped by bright strings and carried by Culpepper’s soulful vocals.

“At first I was a little scared to post it,” he added of the personal number, “because I was so vulnerable in the song. So thank you all for helping me realize that we all go through things and there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel. The comments, messages and singing along with me at my shows really made this old Bama Boy happy. I love you all and can’t wait for you to hear the full version.”

“Who Hurt You” comes shortly after the release of Culpepper’s first official single, “After Me?”, which arrived in mid-June, shortly after the rising star announced a label deal with Big Loud.

“It is a great honor to be part of the Big Loud family,” Culpepper said of his career move. “You have believed in my music and my songs from the very beginning. Your great love for music and the rich history behind it matches mine, and I couldn’t be more grateful to be surrounded by like-minded people. I am so excited to be part of this lineup of artists I have been listening to for so long. Thank you again for believing in my music! Much love!”

And it seems there’s a lot more in store for the artist, who will be supporting Charley Crockett and NEEDTOBREATHE on their respective tours this summer and will hopefully unveil even more new music along the way.
