Green secures his first pole in the Trans-Am Series with a track record at Mid-Ohio
LEXINGTON – Practice and qualifying have concluded for the Trans-Am Series presented by Pirelli’s CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
Austin Green set a new track record in the No. 89 3-Dimensional Services Group Ford Mustang, posting a lap time of 1:23.644 as he took the wheel of a TA2 car for the first time since the season opener at Sebring International Raceway.
Two-time TA2 Australia champion Nathan Herne will take the green flag alongside Green on the front row for his first start of the 2024 season.
“It’s my first race in a Trans-Am car since Sebring, so I’m excited to be back,” said Green. “Hats off to the entire crew at 3-Dimensional Services Group and Peterson Racing.”
“They brought a really fast Ford Mustang from 3-Dimensional Services Group today. We were already fast in practice and were able to build on that. Then we went out, did a lap and finished first in qualifying.
“I’m looking forward to starting at the front of the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series for the first time tomorrow.”
The race starts on Saturday at 12:40 p.m. It will be broadcast live on MAVTV and can also be streamed live here.
Highlights of the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series race will be broadcast on MAVTV on Thursday, June 27th at 8pm.
