Audacy names Chris Brown as the new live commentator for Buffalo Bills football broadcasts on WGR-AM beginning with the 2024 season. Brown, who served as interim commentator last season, will continue to serve as the station’s Bills Insider and co-host “One Bills Live,” weekdays at 1 p.m. ET on WGR 550 and simulcast on MSG.

“Chris is best suited to continue the Bills’ long tradition of informative, passionate and entertaining live commentary,” said Tim Wenger, senior vice president and market manager of Audacy Buffalo. “His decades of knowledge of the organization will be invaluable as he takes the live commentary microphone.”

“I have been fortunate to meet, work with and learn from Van Miller and John Murphy,” Brown added. “I am grateful to be entrusted with this responsibility going forward.”

“Chris has done the job at an extremely high level the last two seasons alongside Eric Wood and Sal Capaccio,” said Buffalo Bills Chief Operating Officer Pete Guelli. “He has a deep institutional knowledge of our team while also understanding the pulse of our fans. We look forward to Chris carrying the torch of the legends this job has produced with Van Miller and John Murphy.”

Brown is a veteran live commentator with a long career in sports. He joined WGR 550 as a sports reporter in 1997, became co-host of “One Bills Live” with Steve Tasker in 2006, and was promoted to host in 2020. Brown also hosts the weekly podcast “Bills by the Numbers.” From 1996 to 2018, he provided live commentary for the Arena Football League, Mid-American Conference, National Professional Soccer League and MSG.

Brown succeeds longtime Bills announcer John Murphy, who recently announced his retirement. Eric Wood will return as co-commentator for WGR 550’s game day broadcasts.
