Who needs Taylor Swift? Meet the Canobie Lake impersonator who’s wowing fans

A tribute performance for Taylor Swift has taken the internet by storm thanks to her striking resemblance to the legendary pop star.

At Canobie Lake Park in Salem, New Hampshire, the singer, who performs under the name June (Taylor’s Version), delights visitors with her interpretation of the legendary performances of the Eras Tour.

Alexa De Masse of Pepperell, Massachusetts, visited earlier this month, loved the performance and shared some moments on TikTok, where the video has been viewed millions of times.

“It was my first time there alone and my main wish was to see the Tribute to Taylor show,” said De Masse Newsweek.

“I knew the Taylor tribute show was there and was expecting a huge crowd, so I was surprised that people were mostly sitting and not dancing around. Honestly, I was thunderstruck when I saw June. I knew she wasn’t really Taylor Swift, but I sat in the front row and couldn’t believe how much she looked and sounded like Taylor.”

On TikTok, videos of June (Taylor’s Version) were shared and reposted, impressing Swifties.

“I was approached by the producer who is directing the production of the tribute shows at Canobie Park,” said June Newsweek“I had just started to get involved in tribute work when a mutual contact brought us into contact in January 2024.

“Canobie has been known for hosting incredible tribute acts for many years and it is a great honour to be part of her legacy. I have been a fan of Taylor’s music for a very long time, so it is truly a privilege to be able to perform her songs and share that joy with others.”

A former dancer, cheerleader, show choir member and theater kid, June has loved brushing up on her acting skills and returning to the stage: “I am overwhelmed and flattered by the positive reception our humble show has received,” she said.

Since the show went viral on the internet, people have come from far and wide to see the show at Canobie Lake; they even travel from out of state to see the performance.

Chris Nicoli, Brand Manager of Canobie Lake Park, said Newsweek: “Our tribute to Taylor will run daily (except Tuesdays) from June 22 through September 2, 2024. The performance will last approximately 30 minutes, with the first two performances each day including a meet and greet with guests. We are proud to present the tribute to her music in the spirit of her performance for families across the Northeast.”

Although the real Taylor Swift will perform a few more concerts before the end of her worldwide Eras tour, most of the tickets are sold out and the prices for those still available are high.

De Masse said she highly recommends the show to anyone looking for an alternative: “I won’t miss this show as the ticket prices are insane. June does a meet and greet after the show and of course her speaking voice sounds like Taylor’s too. She was so sweet.”
