Horse Jumper Of Love releases new song “Today’s Iconoclast”: Listen

Another single from the upcoming album by Horse Jumper Of Love Disaster trick? Who could say no to that! So far, the Boston shoegaze crew has released “Gates Of Heaven,” “Wink,” and “Snow Angel,” all of which landed on our best songs of the week list. Contenders for album of the year? It’s possible! Today, they unveil another preview with “Today’s Iconoclast.”

“I saw a Pasolini film and read that someone called him an iconoclast,” explained bandleader Dimitri Giannopoulos. “I was obsessed with that word and that idea. To create something good, you have to destroy a belief in some way. You can’t stay static, you have to be able to accept change and adapt. I thought everyone should try to be as iconoclastic as possible, because many people end up unhappy or dissatisfied. I think we could all be happier if we made an effort to destroy what we believe to be true about our own desires.”

“Today’s Iconoclast” is another hypnotic, dark gem with great rhymes: “We gave blood to our fantasies/ We play fuck, kill, marry,” “Hate is the noise of grief/ I read it in the Amazon Basics Bible.” Watch the Rhys Scarabosio-directed music video below.

Disaster trick was released on August 16th by Run For Cover.
