While the MCU began in 2008 with Iron ManIn the early 2000s, there were already a lot of Marvel movies produced by different studios. 20th Century Fox had X-Men, Fantastic Four, And DaredevilSony had Spider-ManUniversal had Hulketc. The MCU would be a very different story if all of these films had been built as one larger, coherent narrative.

The Marvel brand experienced a new boom in the cinema in 1998 with “The Last Man”. blade. In the early 2000s, the superhero genre experienced a boom with Fox’ X-Men Movies and Sonys Spider-Man films with Tobey Maguire. Fox also made other Marvel films, including the two Fantastic Four Movies, Daredevil And Electra back then, but the films did not have a coherent narrative.

Kevin Feige changed all that when he built the MCU, starting with 2008 Iron Man Which led to … The avenger in 2012. However, if the Marvel films of the early 2000s were connected, the resulting “alternate” MCU would not be the MCU we know today. Many events and characters may not have played out in the MCU as fans know it, including Chris Evans’ Captain America.

When fans discussed this possibility on Reddit, one fan, Naive-Connection-516, wrote: “Can you imagine never seeing Chris Evans as Captain America? It wasn’t the same magic as Johnny Storm.”. Evans was already in the Marvel Universe and played Johnny Storm in Fantastic Four Movies. Maybe he would never have played Captain America if the MCU had started with the Marvel movies of the early 2000s.

Another fan, JELjr7, wrote that the “alternative” MCU would have been incredibly chaotic (The X-Men Movies already had serious continuity and timeline problems) Writing, “It would probably have been an absolute nightmare, resulting in only a cameo here and there.” Feige made the right decision and dared to start over with his own film universe, which developed into the outstanding franchise we know today.

Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in the leading roles Deadpool and Wolverine The release date is slowly approaching and the stars have been heavily promoting the film. Lucky fans have seen 30 to 35 minutes of the film and praised its bold and edgy character. Moreover, according to Kevin Feige, the film will have a strong emotional core.

In an interview with Deadline, the Marvel boss gave a preview of the fact that Deadpool and Wolverine is the most wholesome R-rated movie you could ever see. While audiences will see the expected profanity and R-rated action sequences, the film is ultimately a sweet journey that celebrates friendship and found family. Feige said:

The film is rated R, yes there is some language and blood, but it is incredibly emotional. I keep calling it the most wholesome R-rated film you can ever watch. It really is a celebration of friendship and family and found family.

When people see the movie, they’ll see how emotional it is – much more so than the first two Deadpool movies, in my opinion. That’s what really excites me, once people get past the “F” words and the R rating and see how sweet it is.

The Marvel boss also announced that he and the cast of the film will be at the San Diego Comic-Con on July 25 to Deadpool and Wolverine Panel. This shows once again the confidence they have in the film. The highly anticipated Marvel film will be released in theaters worldwide on July 26, 2024.
