Michigan Football Fall Camp Start Date Announced

Michigan Football Fall Camp Start Date Announced

As a program spokesperson confirmed Tuesday morning, the Michigan Wolverines will report to fall practice for the first time on Wednesday, July 31, exactly one month before their Week 1 game against Fresno State.

In his first season as full-time head coach at the University of Michigan, Sherrone Moore faces the difficult task of leading a team coming off a 15-0 season capped by a Rose Bowl victory over Alabama and a National Championship win over Washington.

Before things really get started, however, Moore must select a brand new starting quarterback. Alex Orji, Davis Warren and Jayden Denegal all completed spring practice, while veteran Jack Tuttle was sidelined with an injury. Tuttle is expected to be ready for the season, giving him a real chance to earn the starting spot when fall training camp begins in two weeks.

The Wolverines will also be working in new starters across the board, with the most turnover coming on the offensive line. Six players from the 2024 roster are now pros, so Moore and offensive line coach Grant Newsome will need to find a brand new starting lineup that fits well together to continue the Wolverines’ success of the past few years.

All in all, real football is approaching pretty quickly. As defensive coordinator Wink Martindale likes to say on Twitter: “Buckle up.”
