Who is Ingrid Andress? What you need to know about the MLB Home Run Derby national anthem singer

The MLB Home Run Derby added a little more momentum when the national anthem was played.

To say it received mixed reviews would be an exaggeration.

So who is Ingrid Andress?

Andress is a country singer and songwriter who broke through in 2019 with her single “More Hearts Than Mine,” which entered the Billboard Hot 100 and peaked at number 30.

She collaborated with Sam Hunt on “Wishful Drinking,” which also entered the Hot 100.

The 32-year-old has been nominated for a Grammy four times, including Best New Artist and Best Country Song in 2021. She has toured as a solo artist with Stevie Nicks and alongside other country stars such as Keith Urban, Dan + Shay and Tim McGraw. Andress has released two albums in her career, most recently “Good Person” in 2022.

In addition, her father, Brad Andress, was a major league conditioning and strength coach for nearly two decades, including with the Detroit Tigers and Colorado Rockies.

Country singer and native Texan Cody Johnson will sing the national anthem before the All-Star Game on Tuesday.
