Pixey announces debut album with “Give A Little Of Your Love”

Produced by Pixey himself, “Give A Little Of Your Love” is a nod to the enduring nature of classic love songs and evokes the soulful simplicity of the ’60s. Pixey says, “I don’t usually write about romantic love – I often find that far too much has been written about it, but I actually felt drawn to that feeling when I was writing over the instrumental score of this song to try and understand the feelings I was having at the time (which doesn’t happen very often).”

“I pitched an old, royalty-free sample in Ableton and layered a drum loop over it, then added hi-hats, MIDI synth and programmed strings,” she continues. “It’s a nod to ‘Atomic Bomb’ by William Onyeabor, a piece that sparked my entry into music. This song is a heartfelt plea for love, beautifully uncomplicated.”

The track follows recent singles “Bring Back The Beat,” “Miss American Dream,” “The Thrill Of It,” and the album’s title track “Million Dollar Baby.”

To celebrate the release of Million Dollar BabyPixey will be doing a number of dates in stores including Rough Trade West and an album launch party at Jacaranda in her hometown of Liverpool. Tickets for her September headline tour are also on sale now and include performances at London’s Lower Third on the 25th and the Arts Club in Liverpool on the 28th.
