For a terribly bad national anthem

People may have thought Fergie gave the worst national anthem of all time – but a new contender has entered the chat for a chance at the title … and her name is Ingrid Andress.

The country singer was chosen as the talent to belt out the “Star Spangled Banner” at Monday’s MLB special event … and as soon as she started singing, it was clear that this was going to be a song that would go down in the record books – and for all the wrong reasons.

Listen for yourself… Ingrid was a bit confused with her notes during the performance, and yes, at several points it sounded quite wrong – so bad, in fact, that some of the players looked like they were about to burst out laughing.

Take Alec Bohm of the Phillies, for example… the camera panned to him during the song and he fought back a huge grin that spread across his face.

The same was true for the other players standing by and watching it all unfold… there were many confused faces – and more cries of disapproval from the crowd. There wasn’t much cheering… but more cries of shock and dismay.

Like we said…it was objectively terrible – or so the internet says – and of course the comparisons to Fergie were quick to be made…and many people thought Fergie was proven right.



As you know, Fergie performed at the 2018 NBA All-Star Game and belted out a unique version of the national anthem. She’s held that crown for years, but now… Ingrid is the queen.
