US President Joe Biden said in an interview that he had been “very supportive of the Palestinians” and “done more for the Palestinian community than anyone else,” and also described himself as a “Zionist.”

“I’m the guy who released all the assets, I’m the guy who made sure the Egyptians opened the border to let goods through, (like) medicine and food,” he told journalist Speedy Morman on the YouTube talk show “360 With Speedy.”

When asked about his support for Israel, including the supply of weapons and military aid, Biden said he had “denied them offensive weapons.”

“I have made it very clear that Israel must not use the weapons we supply to it in civilian areas,” he said.

Biden’s claimed support for the Palestinians was quickly refuted online.

“You would think that someone who killed 38,000 Palestinians during his time in office would show a little more humility,” one social media commenter wrote in a repost of Biden’s interview.
