Colorado TINTS, Inc. will host a “Backstage” reception on Thursday, August 1st from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Box of Bubbles, 206 E Street.

It’s an opportunity for people to meet actors, directors, producers and technical assistants who work with Colorado TINTS. It’s also an opportunity for people who may not know much about TINTS to learn about their work, past, present and future. Food and drinks will be served to guests.

TINTS will also discuss a writing project between them and the Chaffee County Queer Club.

Colorado TINTS, short for Theater in Non-Traditional Spaces, is a 501(c)(3) organization that seeks to tell stories that aren’t usually told and give voice to voices that aren’t usually heard on stage. TINTS was founded in 2017 and has since told the stories of union organizer Mary Harris “Mother” Jones, radical-minded radio producer Richard Durham, and the first-of-its-kind openly gay politician Harvey Milk, among others. Milk (Ben Beasley) and Jones (Jan Justis) will make cameo appearances at the celebration.

The Box of Bubbles is a “creative resource center” where artists can create and showcase their art. Visual artists are welcome, as are soundscape and music artists, and performance artists – such as playwrights and actors.

Guests are asked to confirm their attendance at [email protected] or text 719-239-4500.
