The Quantum Leap Reboot Team is working on a comedy series about Area 51

Quantum leapended after two seasons on NBC, but the developers have already found their next television project to keep them busy. The show will be a workplace comedy series set in Area 51.




According to Deadline, Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt are working together to develop the new series with Laura Moran (The neighborhood), James Wan’s Atomic Monster and CBS Studios. Dubbed Area 51The series will be a half-hour, single-camera workplace comedy that will “follows the humans and aliens working together in the most mysterious place in the country.” Lilien, Wyndbrandt and Moran are writing the series and all three will serve as executive producers along with Wan, Michael Clear and Atomic Monster’s Rob Hackett.

Lilien and Wyndbrandt previously developed and produced the Quantum leap Reboot. The end of the series after just two seasons sparked an outcry among fans, but a campaign to bring the series back for Season 3 was unsuccessful. They also have experience at CBS, the home of their next project, having created and executive produced the series themselves. God made me my friendwhich also ran for two seasons. The duo’s other television appearances include La Brea, Alcatraz, Gotham, Hawaii Five-0And CSI: New York.


Area 51 is not usually portrayed as the setting for a comedy show

Area 51 has served as the setting for many other stories in various media, from movies and TV shows to books and video games. However, you wouldn’t usually imagine Area 51 as the setting for a comedy series. The mysterious Nevada location is the subject of a variety of conspiracy theories, due in part to the U.S. government’s strict secrecy about the facility’s purpose. In particular, there have been many theories suggesting that evidence of extraterrestrial life is hidden there.

Area 51 has no release date yet.
