Lee Greenwood and Chris Janson will appear at the Republican National Convention

Attendees at the Republican National Convention, which runs through Thursday (July 18) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, include “God Bless the USA” singer Lee Greenwood and “Buy Me a Boat” singer Chris Janson.

Other convention attendees include lawmakers, governors and officials, as well as rapper Amber Rose and media personalities Tucker Carlson and Savannah Chrisley.

Greenwood is known for his 1984 hit “God Bless the USA,” which reached No. 7 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. Greenwood has scored seven No. 1 hits on Hot Country Songs, including 1987’s “Mornin’ Ride.” Janson, meanwhile, has scored two top hits on the Country Airplay chart with 2019’s “Done” and “Good Vibes.” Janson’s 2015 breakthrough song “Buy Me a Boat” was certified 4x multi-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

The Republican National Convention comes just days after an apparent assassination attempt on former U.S. President Donald J. Trump during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday (July 13). Trump’s right ear was injured in the shooting. One bystander was killed in the shooting, while others were injured, according to the New York TimesSecret Service agents killed the gunman, later identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania.

On Sunday (July 14), Greenwood posted a photo of herself with Trump on Instagram and wrote: “Please pray for him! God bless the USA.”

Trump is expected to speak at the Republican National Convention this week. On Monday (July 15), he also mentioned Hillbilly Elegy According to CNN, author and politician JD Vance was named his vice presidential candidate.
