Bruce Springsteen conquers the Hot Country Songs charts and returns to the Hot 100

Almost 50 years after his Billboard In his chart debut, Bruce Springsteen takes first place and lands in the Hot Country Songs statistics for the first time.

Additionally, The Boss returns to the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 for the first time in over 15 years.

Springsteen scores his latest chart success on July 20 lists thanks to his featured role on Zach Bryan’s “Sandpaper” from his new album. The great American bar sceneThe set climbs to number 1 on BillboardIt peaked at number 2 on the Top Streaming Albums, Top Country Albums, and Top Rock & Alternative Albums charts, among others, and reached number 1 on the Billboard 200 after its first full week of tracking (July 5–11, following its July 4 release).

According to Luminate, the collaboration reached 7.1 million official streams in the US and was played on the radio by 22,000 people. It sold 1,000 downloads in its first week. The song landed at number 26 on the Hot Country Songs and number 71 on the Hot 100.

With his first entry on the Hot Country Songs, Springsteen reaches the Hot 100 for the first time since “Working on a Dream,” which debuted in February 2009 and peaked at No. 95. “Sandpaper” marks his 27th Hot 100 entry, a streak that began in 1975 with his iconic “Born to Run,” which peaked at No. 23.

Most notably, Springsteen performed at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on March 27 to sing a duet with Bryan on “Sandpaper.” The song has been compared to Springsteen’s “I’m on Fire” – one of seven Hot 100 Top 10 songs from his Born in the USA album in 1984–86 – which Bryan covered in concert.

Springsteen has 12 top 10 hits on the Hot 100 in his career. His first song, “Hungry Heart,” peaked at number 5 in 1980, was followed by his highest-charting single, “Dancing in the Dark,” which peaked at number 2 in 1984. His most recent breakthrough in this category was “Streets of Philadelphia,” which peaked at number 9 in 1994.

Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1999, he has become synonymous with long concerts with his legendary E Street Band, achieving 11 number one hits on the Billboard 200, including 22 top 10s. The riverwho led for four frames in 1980, became his first leader and High hopes his most recent in 2014.

Springsteen, 74, reached critical mass in the mid-80s with Born in the USA., which dominated the charts for seven weeks starting in July 1984 and stayed in the charts for 144 weeks, most recently last month.
