Marvel’s Wonder Man series casts Chi star Byron Bowers – Comic book adaptations and superhero movie news

The Chi’s Byron Bowers was released for Marvel Studios’ upcoming Miracle Man Series.

Wonder Man is a new MCU series by Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest. In the series, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will play the titular superhero.

According to Deadline, Wonder Man has now cast Bowers in an as-yet-unnamed role in the series, which does not yet have a premiere date.

Bowers is known for his role as Meldrick in Showtime’s The Chi. He has also starred in films such as Honey Boy (2019), Concrete Cowboy (2020), No Sudden Move (2021), Kimi (2022), and others. He will soon be seen playing a character named Slappy in Apple TV+’s Lady in the Lake, which premieres on July 19, 2024.

What else do we know about Wonder Man?

In addition to Abdul-Mateen II (Aquaman, Us) and Bowers, Marvel’s Wonder Man stars Ben Kingsley as Trevor Slattery, Demetrius Grosse as Eric Williams, and Lauren Glazier in an as-yet-unnamed role. Ed Harris and Josh Gad are also rumored to appear in the series, but their casting has not yet been officially confirmed.

Guest serves as head writer for the series, while Cretton and Stella Meghie will direct several episodes. Cretton also serves as an executive producer alongside Kevin Feige.

Details of the plot are still secret at this time.

On the official Marvel podcast (via GamesRadar), Feige recently teased Wonder Man: “We have a show in the pipeline that we’ve talked very little about, it’s called Wonder Man, and I’m not going to say much about it today, except to say it’s extremely different. It’s very exciting to be part of a company that’s been around for 25 years or more, and a company that’s been around for 85 years, embedded (within) the Walt Disney Company, which has been around for 100 years, and still be able to try new things, take characters and stories to new places. That’s what I’m so excited about.”
