Shannen Doherty rewatched podcast episodes of “Charmed” before her death

The cast of “Charmed” will continue to honor Shannen Doherty on the “House of Halliwell” podcast.

The Rewatch podcast, which first launched in 2022, is hosted by Holly Marie Combs, Brian Krause and Drew Fuller. After a lengthy hiatus, the podcast returned this month, with Doherty joining as co-host after “a lot of courting,” Combs announced on the July 7 episode of Doherty’s “Let’s Be Clear” podcast.

Doherty, who played Prue Halliwell in 67 episodes of “Charmed,” died on July 13 following a battle with breast cancer.

“This show, this character, this podcast meant so much to Shannen that she couldn’t wait to share it with Charmed fans everywhere. We want to honor her memory and fulfill Shannen’s wishes by airing the first five episodes she recorded before her passing,” the podcast account House of Halliwell shared on Instagram on Monday. “She was excited about this project and proud to have played Prue Halliwell. We hope these episodes bring some comfort to everyone who loved her. Prue, your memory remains and your magic lives on.”

The first episode of the rewatch podcast, recapping the 1998 pilot episode, was released on all platforms on Sunday under the title “Shannen’s Magic Lives On.”

“It is with a heavy heart that I come to you tonight after hearing the news of Shannen Doherty’s passing yesterday afternoon,” Krause said in the introduction, adding that they were all shocked and devastated by the news. “Too young, too talented, too loving, too grateful, too soon. Shannen will be greatly missed and we are so honored that she came with us or had us join her in this new invocation of the House of Halliwell.”

He added that Doherty was “so motivated and determined to contribute to the success of this show and to give you all more insight into the making, fun and behind the scenes of ‘Charmed.'”

Before diving into the episode, Krause gushed about how grateful he was to be able to spend so much time with Doherty traveling to various conventions: “It gave her so much emotionally, and meeting the fans, hearing their stories and knowing how much it meant to all of you was deeply fulfilling for her, and I know she believed in the House of Halliwell and that was the little she could give back.”
