Local artist Jessica Duke releases her new song “HOME”

Grande Prairie Christian artist Jessica Duke has released a new song called “Home.”

Jessica was born in Langley, BC and raised in a Reformed church. She moved to Grande Prairie about ten years ago and integrated into the local Baptist church. Her faith has grown significantly since childhood, evolving from something she followed because of her parents to a deeply personal journey.

“My faith has definitely grown as I’ve gotten older,” Jessica says. “At first it was kind of like my parents’ faith, but it’s really become something that’s my own.”

Jessica’s musical background includes piano lessons and a passion for singing since childhood. Inspired by her older sisters, she learned to play guitar and ukulele and has been writing music since the age of 12.

Her first release, “Home,” was inspired by the kindness of a friend during a difficult family situation. The song emphasizes that even in a broken world, one can find a safe place and home in God. “Home” was recorded in a home studio in her parent’s basement and produced by her husband Emery. It is available on major streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music.
