Dan Burke And The Royal Treatment headline the NIMFest concert series in Newport on July 21

Known for their dynamic blend of funk, R&B and soul, Dan Burke and The Royal Treatment bring their electrifying sound and captivating stage presence to Newport on Sunday, July 21 for an unforgettable evening of music and community celebration.

Featuring the charismatic Dan Burke, the group’s powerful vocals and precise instrumental arrangements have earned them a loyal following and critical acclaim. With Dan’s soulful voice and the band’s tight-knit rhythm section, The Royal Treatment delivers a performance that is both nostalgic and refreshingly modern, paying tribute to the greats of the past while forging their own unique path in the world of soul and R&B.

Dan Burke, who had just completed his Prince birthday concert at Off The Rails in Worcester, MA, was described as “a superb pianist and singer in his own right” in a recent article by Craig S. Semon for Worcester Magazine. The band’s upcoming single, “My Pleasure,” is out July 19, just days before their performance at King Park in Newport.

The musical afternoon begins with a performance by the Van Pelt Duo, a Newport-based brother-sister acoustic group known for their powerful voices and complex harmonies.

NIMFest, short for Newport Independent Music Festival, has become a popular summer concert series in Newport that celebrates local and regional artists in a family-friendly atmosphere. The event is free and open to the public and invites music lovers from across Rhode Island to enjoy an afternoon of live music in one of Newport’s most picturesque parks.

Visitors are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to fully enjoy the open-air concert experience. As parking is limited, the public is asked to carpool. Alcohol is not permitted in the park. All concerts are from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Rainy day events may be held in September if needed.

The free outdoor concert series is made possible by the City of Newport, the New England Music Organization and North End Entertainment thanks to a generous donation from the Hamilton Family Foundation.
