Brandy would “love” to go on tour with Monica after the remake of “Boy Is Mine”

Are Brandy and Monica going on tour soon? At least that’s what one of them hopes.

During the premiere of Disney’s Descendants – The Rise of RedBrandy revealed that she and her “The Boy Is Mine” collaborator have been wanting to collaborate more since they helped Ariana Grande remix her hit single.

“I’ve talked to (Monica) so many times about what we could do together – tour, residency, everything,” Brandy said Additional television. “I really want that. Monica, I really want that.”

Of the modern remake itself, Brandy described the reunion as “so magical.” She continued, “The energy between me and Monica was so beautiful. I loved working with her this time. It was so great of (Ariana) to call us to be a part of it. She didn’t have to do that. She didn’t take anything away from the original. She created a whole new song, so it was just a blessing to call us and pay homage to us in that way.”

Ariana Grande released the video for her version of “The Boy Is Mine” in early June and it included a cameo from Brandy and Monica. It wasn’t long before the three women released an official remix of the record.

“I…..can’t believe this is true (I don’t know if I will believe it, even long after it’s out),” Grande gushed in the official announcement. “My deepest and most sincere thanks go out to Brandy and Monica, not only for being with me in this moment, but for their generosity, their kindness, and for the countless ways they have inspired me. It’s almost impossible to express how much this means to me.”

The news that Brandy wants to tour or headline with Monica comes months after her little brother Ray J made the news.

In March, he joined the comments on Monica’s livestream, writing: “BRANDY/MONICA TOUR – PLEASE LET’S MAKE HISTORY, A RUN FOR THE FANS. Over 100 million for both of you.”

Monica countered the small press campaign he had launched, stating: “I have not received any contracts or calls regarding the said tour. Ray J, I politely ask you to stop speaking publicly about me! A private conversation would be both necessary and respectful!”

However, since the remix of “The Boy Is Mine” came about, fans may actually get the tour they’ve been dreaming of.
