Warren Zeiders releases new song “Addictions” and announces second album “Relapse”

Zeiders’ new musical era is just around the corner.

Warren Zeiders recently revealed plans to release his second project Relapseon August 23rd via Warner Records.

Produced by Mike Elizondo, the project is described as a “sonic exploration of his signature country-rock growl, but also features more story-driven, acoustic vocals.” The 10 tracks include previously released singles such as “Betrayal” and the title track “Relapse,” which has been streamed more than 15.2 million times in the U.S. since its release in June.

Just hours before announcing the news of his upcoming project, Zeiders shared a first glimpse with his latest song, “Addictions.” Written by Zeiders, Rivers Rutherford, and Alex Maxwell, this introspective tune finds Zeiders in an incredibly vulnerable state as he acknowledges the painful impact his battle with addiction has had on his heart.

“How are you, my old friend?/ I guess it wouldn’t surprise you if I’m high again/ It’s been hard living without you, but/ It gets easier when the high sets in,” he sings in the first verse.

The country singer’s haunting vocals echo between the complex guitar sounds, helping to guide the listener through the narrative in which, despite his incredible desire to choose love, he realizes that it is no match for the power of addiction.

In the chorus he continues: “There’s a heaven in this hell that I’m chasing/ Like a coyote howling at the moon alone/ There’s a truth in all the pain that I don’t face/ I guess that’s why I do the things that I do/ I choose my addictions over you.”

Relapse follows Zeider’s acclaimed debut album from 2023 Nice little poisonwhich earned him his first number one single on country radio for the double platinum title track. The fan favorite song peaked in the top 25 on BillboardIt entered the top 100, reached 380 million streams worldwide and won the CMT Award for “Breakthrough Male Video of the Year”.
